Maria Sanders
ENCOURAGING HEALTHY AND HAPPY COMMUNITIES.
Maria Sanders, a Philosophy professor at Plymouth State University, has over thirty years of experience in higher education in both community college and university systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy, J.D. in Law, M.B.A. in Business, and a B.A. in Music. She is the recipient of multiple teaching and service awards including the President's Good Steward Award and works closely with Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-free Youth (CADY) to promote healthy environments and promising futures for local youth. Maria has facilitated town-wide happiness quests, and hosted local radio and television programs designed to encourage reflective discussions exploring connections to local communities and natural environments. A common theme found throughout her work is the importance of the relationship between human beings and the natural world.
